The Holy Sunday

Today was the 25th anniversary of my family Catholic church. They flew the priest that founded the church from Croatia to be there. There was lunch, and lots of old people I hadn't seen in probably 10 or 20 years. I took lots of pictures of my dad talking to all these old friends of his -- old men recanting their wild drinking days, when they were all crazy mad-men about town (now complaining that their vision is failing, etc...). Moods were pretty good all around, and the food they served was good, although the folk dancing was kind of short. After church, I went to Home Depot to get some wood to finish my deck, and I saw Gerry the plumber who I hadn't seen in probably 15 years. He is a dirty ol coot who was always trying to touch my mom's boobs when he was working at my house :) hehe. At home, I spent an hour on my computer wondering why SSH wasn't working, then I replaced the eWiki with Geeklog on the main page, and integrated the Gallery wiith the geeklog blogging system. Just have to do the graphics now :) All to give you all a better experience overall :)

A full day of purchasing and buying and consuming in K-town

Today Matt and I set out reasonbly early with a goal to a) get a mat to protect the floor in the front entry way, and b) get some kitchen-ware since Mat and Sarah moved out. We started by going to the Italian Furniture Store to check on the desk delivery date. Then we went to Urban Lights where I ordered up a cool lamp designed by MOMA (Museum of Modern Art). After that we played around at X-S Cargo, with parabolic microphones and metal detectors, and bought 27 used videos on VHS. After X-S Cargo, it was STOP the industrial food store where I got some expensive knives and clevers and ktichen things including a scale, and some mugs. Then we went to Guelph for a buffet, which was okay. We also checked out a cool thrift store where I got an amazing vintage toshiba alarm clock and a cool chair for next to nothing. Then to Long and McQuaid where Gilbo checked Guitars and I listened to Sean's recording of a blues band called Daddy Long Legs. I bought a book on audio mastering that Sean recommended. Then we went to a Chinese store that's being sold soon and selected some really cool china, but couldn't pay for it as they didn't take Visa, so they're holding it for a week or so. Then we went to Fairview park mall to see if they had japanese folded steel knives, but they didn't. I had an Orange Julius, Matt had an A&W root beer. We went to the HMV, where I ordered some CD's. I was disappointed by their selection. Like a thousand channels and nothing on. Finally, we went to Home Sense, which was closing when we came in, and checked out some mats -- all were kinda gross. So we went back home, where I cleaned up the kitchen, and Matt is finishing perogies as I write this, and we'll watch South Park's 'Passion of the Jew'. Lessons learned today? Cut down on sugary food, always have some cash in pocket. Matt says 'go in the kitchen and have yourself a plate of health food' (perogies with bacon, mushrooms, onions, sour cream). My food intake today today is poopie. Foodland security level ORANGE-ALERT.
